DuPage United
An Organization of Organizations

Re-Imagining Illinois
Statewide efforts with our sister organizations in Cook and Lake County.

Vision -- Five Pillars:

  1. Rooting Out Corruption
    2 Fiscal Responsibility
3 Tax Fairness & Adequate Revenue
    4 Priorities for People
5 New and Diverse Faces in State and Local Government

Actions & progress to date:
  • Two joint actions with Gov. Quinn in March & May – 1000s of people attended to support action on the 5 pillars listed above.
    • 10 leaders make Springfield trip in late May on State Reform and Budget issues.
    • Suceeded in getting $145 million for housing in Capital Budget (finalized on July 13th) – a 2 year effort led by United Power for Action and Justice.
    • Establishing a working relationship with Patrick Collins, David Hoffman, Rep. Tom Cross, Governor Quinn and others to address reform in Illinois.
    • Boards & Commissions Campaign – since early June, DuPage United and our 3 other sister organizations have recruited 72 people (PACT 25, LCU 16, DU 9, UPAJ 22) to officially apply for key state boards and commissions. Three have been appointed by the Governor. We are pushing the Governor to fill the vacancies with fresh new talented citizens that are not part of the status quo.
