Vision: Decent, safe, and affordable housing available to the family of every wage-earner in DuPage County

Mission: Work toward realizing this vision by serving as a catalyst to build relationships and facilitate cooperation among the many groups and institutions whose efforts are needed if the goal is to be achieved.

Specifically:

• Those who will occupy the homes must play leading roles in planning and execution.

• Federal, state, county, and municipal governments must supply, e.g., builder and buyer subsidies, land, tax abatements, code and zoning changes, and public education.

• Banks must provide construction loans and mortgages.

• Attorneys must create land trust documents and other creative instruments.

• Builders and contractors must make maximum use of innovative technology and economies of scale to reduce cost and price of units.

• Religious institutions and other not-for-profit institutions must provide volunteer workers, education of their members and, where possible, subsidies and/or land.
